Beck & Rössig is a boutique IP firm established in 1999 and located in Munich. With a background in mechanical engineering and over 25 years of professional experience, we advise on intellectual property matters with technical depth and legal precision. Our focus lies on efficient prosecution before the European Patent Office (EPO), the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO), European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and WIPO. Michael Beck studied mechanical engineering at TU Darmstadt and has been active in the field of industrial property protection since 1996. Over the course of his career, he has drafted approximately 1,000 patent applications and handled more than 2,000 procedures before the European and German offices. His technical focus includes general mechanical engineering, especially automotive engineering, material science, and chemistry. He maintains a broad network of professional contacts in numerous countries around the world.
Rolf Rössig

Rolf Rössig studied mechanical engineering in Augsburg and Munich with focus towards aeronautical engineering. He entered patent profession in 1992 and is further qualified in construction methodology as well as value analysis. Prior to entering patent profession, Rolf gained front edge engineering practice in connection with CAD, FEM and numerical flow analysis within his work at the Max Plack Institute for Plasmaphysics. Within 30 years of patent practice Rolf has provided intensive support for a number of successful Start-up´s by developing well scaled cost-efficient IP-Portfolios. Rolf is specialized in processing cases with minimum capacity binding on clients side and in drafting strategic cases on the basis of constructional methodic approaches.

An initial consultation with us is free of charge and serves to give us an overview of the matter and provide you with an initial assessment. It should not exceed 60 minutes. Please understand that we cannot resolve complex cases during an initial consultation.

How quickly can I schedule an appointment?
Appointments can be arranged at short notice within a few days. Urgent patent-related “emergencies” are part of our standard repertoire. Appointments can be made by telephone or email.
